Say what?! Inktober wrap up? Yes…, see… I have fallen off the wagon and decided that with the little time I have, I want to do other things again. At least I have managed to do 14 days, almost half the month! It is a stellar improvement from the single drawing each I have done in the previous 2 years.

The prompt for day 12 was #worried. I drew this face and tried some crosshatching for shading.

Prompt 13 was #scared and I thought it would be great to do another face, a scared face. This time I used only black india ink and brushes – not easy if you ask me. Major disaster struck – I knocked over the little bottle with black ink! It stained the cover of my art journal (see how I fixed it in my previous blog post here), the bottom of my MacBook (even though I wiped it off straight away), the desk and my fingers. One week later and I still have black stained finger nails. Yikes!

As I was already behind, I decided to do the next 2 prompts together because I thought they work together so well. The prompts were #tree and #relax and when I saw the prompts an image of a yogini practicing under a tree came to my mind.

I tried to keep it very loose and sketchy and coloured in with Dylusions inks. Don’t like this at all and it annoys me a bit that this is the last of my Inktober images for this year. But I am happy that I gave it a try. Inktober has challenged me to work with a specific medium, think outside the box and try different techniques. I have learned a lot and I am sure I will participate again next year. And who knows, I might make it all the way through!

Are you participating in Inktober 2016? How are you doing? Are you keeping up?
