Long time no see

May 30th, 2009

My apologies to my readers - if I have any left *lol*. Life has been not only hectic but also sad, don’t want to go in detail here.

Unfortunately my mojo has disappeared which means I finally have resigned at SBE because I simply haven’t been able to put out any new products for such a long time. I will keep my personal store and will hopefully be able to put out new products soon.

To get back into my groove I have started digiscrapping again - not a lot but at least I try to keep up with my CT requirements for the fabulous Heather Roselli at sweetshoppedesigns.com. She has been so patient and understanding I can’t thank her enough! Heather, luv ya girl! XOXO

For this layout I used School’s Out by Heather Roselli

This is the latest kit “Mud on the tires” by Heather Roselli coming out this Saturday at SSD!

Hope to see you soon.

2. Check In!

January 25th, 2009

Sorry ladies, I am a bit late but I had computer problems, it kept shutting down on me, very frustrating.

I don’t know about you but I have to tell ya, this workshop is working so well for me: I have the first 4 pages of the photobook ready and it feels soooo good to have them finished! YAY, so rewarding! A fifth of my first ever photobook is done, can you believe it?

As you can see, I am trying to keep the overall look similar. I think, this will tigh the book nicely together.

So please link me up to your proof for the last two weeks in the comments below this thread. If you haven’t sent me your schedule, please do so (through the group if you prefer) so that I can check if you have met your task for today. Can’t wait to see!

Challenge 3, 4 and 5 and… CT member of Heather Roselli!

January 24th, 2009

Oh my, I am behind with posting, am I? We had so many busy days that I didn’t get the change but I am catching up now ;)

Find the first layout you created that is still uploaded to a gallery and scraplift it using techniques, trends and concepts that you have learned since you did that original layout.
You can…
* You can use a different kit, elements, papers, brushes, shapes, etc.
* You can add and remove elements, papers, etc.
* You can use a different sized canvas.
* You can move things around and change the overall sketch of the layout.
* You can use the first layout uploaded to any gallery. This does not necessarily mean that it’s the first layout you ever did. When you view your gallery, at whichever site it is at, it needs to be the first layout uploaded to that gallery.
You can not…
* You can not add additional photos to the layout.
* You can not remove any photos from the layout.
* You can not add additional text to the layout; journaling, alphas that spell out a word, word art, journaling. The only text that appears on the layout must be identical in verbiage to what it was originally. You can change the font, you can convert text into an alpha. If your layout previously used an alpha or wordart, you can convert that alpha/wordart to text or use a new alpha/wordart to spell the same thing. When you are done though, you must have the same words that were on the old layout, on the new layout.

4th Challenge of ADSR4 hosted by Tangie Baxter Designs

1. The Art of it: Your LO must have artistic flair! Literally! Your LO must have at least 3 things “artsy” and/or “altered” on it–(such as but not limited to: paint splatters, a paintbrush, paint spills, crayon doodles, goopy glitter, watercolors, canvas AND/OR altered art items such as wings on photos, art dolls, vintage doodads, ephemera, etc). Really stretch yourself and try something “artsy” that you haven’t tried before!

2. The Soul of it: You must journal something from your Soul. Something positive, heartfelt and meaningful to you in your life! Something you’ve learned, something you’ve gleaned from your life experience. Perhaps something you would want to pass on to the next generation! (It can even be your favorite quote and why it touches/inspires you) Uplift us, make us smile–inspire us! You must share your journaling with us-if it’s hard to read or blended into the background-part of the challenge is to share your journaling in your description.

With this layout I wanted to use more of a collage style which is usually not my style. The artsy/altered bits: the photo overlay and additionally canvas filter, brush strokes, sand splatter, handpainted waves with crayons, water coloured boat and beach toys (filter). For this layout I scanned and extracted our musical tickets.

kit: So Tweet by Laura Deacetis and Nikki Beaudreau

journaling reads:
When we decided to move to Australia, many people, especially family and friends questioned our decision. Why would we want to leave family, friends and the place we know behind? Why would we take the risk starting all over again in a country we didn’t know, speaking a different language? They didn’t see the fantastic opportunity for Gerd in his job. They didn’t see the advantages to raise a family here - they don’t understand…
When we decided to live on the Mornington Peninsula again people questioned our decision. Why wouldn’t we want to live closer to Melbourne? They didn’t see the beauty of the area, the sheer endless possibilities of outdoor activities and still being able to indulge the advantages and events of the cosmopolitan city. Why can’t people be happy for us, why can’t they accept our decisions, why can’t they  see that we are happy with the way we live?

And last but not least, challenge 5. This is also my debut as a CT member of the fantastic Heather Roselli - I just LOVE her kits and already own most of them, check out her store!

my entry to the fifth challenge of the ADSR4, hosted by Anita Stergiou Designs.

jorunaling:
Alois, I cannot remember for which occassion I received you but I do remember you were nearly to big for me to hold you. Your fur was mainly yellow and you had brown patches on your ears and paws. I remember I still had you when I was a teenager but then I lost you. I wish I could show you to my kids.

We have finished the layout for the 2nd challenge

Project 52 - my city

January 10th, 2009

Alex, one of my dear CT-Members and good friends participated last year in a photo project called project 52. Each week of the year you have to take a picture with a certain subject. I really liked it and thought I might try to participate this year.

For this week you had to take a picture of your city or town. As soon as I saw the subject I knew what picture I would take. Actually I had two ideas. When I finally came to the place, the object I wanted to take a picture of was gone! It was an old weathered sign - This town were we live was a town of fruit orchards and just here around the corner is this fruit grower reserve, which had this beautiful sign… Also a shed with old mashines and tools used in those old days. But oh how rude, what did they do, so I couldn’t take a proper picture??? They put wire netting around it! Didn’t they know I wanted to take lovely photos of it?

And that after my first idea didn’t work out either - I thought of taking a picture of Melbourne when visiting the city this week - but instead I got sick and we had to cancel that appointment in the city.

Soooo, it has to be an older picture of Melbourne I have taken earlier. Next week when we go to the city, I will take a new one!

This is the Queensbridge in Melbourne with the famous Flinders Station in the background.

Check In!

January 10th, 2009

Some of you still have time but I already start.

  • it is going to be a photo book 12×12inch of DD’s first year
  • 20 pages
  • I have created my folder and subfolder
  • sorted all photos I am going to use and even created a subfolder for each page
  • I went and bought some new kits and elements I am going to use for this book
  • in my email program (Thunderbird) I have set myself tasks for Tuesdays and Thursdays every week to create a layout so that I have to reach every Check In with 4 layouts.

I am confident I get it done this time!

OK ladies, show me what you have got - reach your task this week and get a nice REWARD!

Check in approaching

January 10th, 2009

Hi dear scrapper friends,

our first check in is approaching and I am wondering how you are doing? Some of you  haven’t signed up for the Yahoo Group - you don’t have to of course but you might miss out on tips and tricks.

I will come back later and post my progress - for the photo book of DD I went shopping for some special kits. As I haven’t decided yet what I am going to use from these, I have copied them all in my special folder and will see what I use along the line.

Oh yes, the ADSR 4 has started!

January 4th, 2009

I just discovered that the first challenge has been posted - can’t wait to start! But I am so exhausted because I did a 1 hour work out on the Wii fit, after working on the computer for most of the day. Did you notice the banners? Not all are displayed yet but these are a hint… for…???

So I won’t start a layout for the race yet, think I deserve a rest on the couch with a glass of Martini on ice :D

Oh, you still can start with the workshop - it is not to late to sign up. Just got an email with another sign up, fantastic!
