Not all are displayed yet but these are a hint… for…???

So I won’t start a layout for the race yet, think I deserve a rest on the couch with a glass of Martini on ice

Oh, you still can start with the workshop – it is not to late to sign up. Just got an email with another sign up, fantastic!

I am done with challenge #10 of the ADSR3, this time hosted by Plain Digital Wrapper.

This time we had to use 50 different elements by at least 10 different designers. Of course it had to be a pretty clustered look with that amount of elements but I didn’t want to use all kinds of elements, so I used only flowers but all different! So I ended up using 50 flowers by 31 different designers. It took me a while to arrange them and resize *lol*

It is Thursday and I haven’t even started on my two layouts for the ADS Race this week. YIKES! The first one, hosted by NDISB, has to be an altered art layout. It is not that I don’t have an idea – it is just getting started as well as some photos I have to take. In the gallery I have seen lots of beautiful examples. If you have some time, please visit and leave some love!

The other layout I have to do, is just for me, my racing partner Alexandra can sit back and relax. I have to use over 50 different elements from over 10 different designers as well as journal about my deepest desire or fear. Can’t wait what I whip up for this one *lol* I really love what I have created for the race so far. It really helps you to think outside the box and do something you usually wouldn’t do.

Sooo… what have I been doing instead? Well, designing! At the moment more and more ideas for kits and element packs are spinning through my head, it is hard to catch up with and write it all down. Even in bed – you know, where you supposed to sleep? – I am thinking of colour swatches, themes, kits and elements and how I could achieve this and that.

Am I crazy? Sure! What else did you expect? ROFL

*yawn* Oh dear, I am so tired! We finished painting another room today. And I was also able to finish the layout for the 8th Challenge at ADSR3. The challenge was quite relaxing although I had troubles finding a lyric for the journaling. It is impossible for me to remember songs

Entry to challenge #8 hosted by NDSIB

Scrap about your most memorable vacation or trip. It can be memorable for being everything you dreamed of, like your honeymoon or that magical Disney cruise, or it can be memorable because the airlines lost your luggage, the car rental place gave you a car that broke down on the way to the hotel that gave your room away to someone else because you were late checking in and the only room they have left is the one next to the ice machine and it’s making noise all night long.

And because we love a good challenge, here are your restrictions:

1) Use only B&W Photo(s)

2) Do not use any travel themed elements or papers (i.e planes, trains or automobiles, postcards, etc.)

3) Use only ONE word as your title

4) You must incorporate the lyrics to some song in your journaling somehow. You don’t have to include the whole song, just a line or even a few words. Just let us know what song it is in your credits.

Journaling:

New Zealand… A trip to New Zealand has always been a dream. When living in Germany I thought, to far away, to expensive, you are never going to make it there. And then….everything changed, we moved to Australia! So much closer this dream came true in December 2006. About three weeks Gerd , the kids and I traveled around North and South Island in our motor home. Around every corner there was so much to discover, so many beautiful things to see. Many, many times I asked Gerd to stop because I had to take pictures of this breathtaking landscape, there was so much to take in! It isn’t hard to see we’re in heaven.

Oh well, what a week! I hurt my back, DS had croup so I didn’t sleep much and I haven’t been on the computer a lot. But when I was, I have been very busy creating something special….. I hope to be able to reveal the surprise today, so… come back soon

I didn’t really know how to begin with this challenge, we had to do an interview with an inanimate object. Thanks to my gorgeous team partner Alexandra I finally got an idea.

Entry to challenge #5 hosted by Digitals.

For this stop, you will complete a project that features an inteview with an inanimate object including a minimum of 4 questions & answers. It can be funny, historical, or whatever you like! Maybe you will chose a family heirloom or that vaccuum you have to fight with each week.

VOGUE Living visited this gorgeous double story home on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. Not long ago it was sold and we wanted to find out more about what is currently happening there

VOGUE Living: Tell us about yourself.
House: I am not old, just ten years of age and I am a so called Queenslander.
VOGUE Living: Why are you a Queenslander?
House: I guess because I have been built in a heritage protected street to incorporate with the rest of the houses here that I had to be a period style instead of a modern, contemporary home.
VOGUE Living: How many owners did you have?
House: Four so far.
VOGUE Living: You haven’t changed at all but your surroundings have?
House: No I haven’t but the current owners are updating me with some fresh, new colours, replaced the carpet with floorboards and have a couple of other plans for indoors as well as outdoors.
VOGUE Living: What do you think of the changes? Do you like them?
House: Changes are necessary from time to time to keep me alive and healthy. It feels good that they are looking after me and care about me. I feel loved and truly blessed.

Challenge #6 was to be created by only one team member and Alexandra had a blast.
Challenge: We’re putting a twist on a Sweet Shoppe Signature Challenge, the Spin-A-Lift. Once you’ve chosen which member of your team will officially complete this leg of the race, that person will need to choose a layout from their partner’s gallery to spin. For those of you who may be new to the concept of a spin-a-lift you need to take your partner’s original layout and turn it 90 degrees left or right, a full 180 degrees OR flip it horizontally or vertically to come up with a brand new composition for your page. Then you just scraplift away.
Here’s the twist to make this a bit more challenging than usual… We also want you to switch the subject matter of your partner’s original layout so it’s the opposite of the original page!!

Once upon a time:
in a small town in Holland a little baby girl was born – here name was Nathalie. During the summer holidays she and her family spent some weeks at her grandparents house in Germany, as well as Christmas, which she always enjoyed. It felt special and cosy at granny’s house. And it was special, because they didn’t see them very much. Her dutch granny she saw more often, sometimes she stayed there over the weekend. When she was twelve years of age, she, her little sister and her parents moved to Germany against her will. Her happy life seemed over with that move – her parents got divorced, her daddy died young and life got quite difficult.Very often she felt lost in the world, desperately looking for a home, loving and caring people. But everything changed when she met her prince charming, Gerd. He made her smile again and she felt beautiful. The dark clouds in the sky dissapeared and the sun was shining bright again. They got married, had the most beautiful wedding and soon their gorgeous baby daughter arrived. One day they took on a big challenge which changed their lives tremendously, they moved to Australia. Friends and family thought they were very brave to take on this task.Of course it wasn’t easy, far away from everything and everybody they knew, but they met friendly people and they soon felt at home. Nathalie gave birth to their second child, a son this time. They found a nice house which they bought and renovated to their taste. Nathalie’s children love the house and told her that they don’t want to move again, so they probably still live there today… The End.

Journaling reads:
You are special to me, I thought I would never have cats because of my allergy. When I found out that I wasn’t allergic to specific breeds, you came into my life. From day one you showed affectations, you were the queen, a real diva. When we patted you and you had enough you would walk away whipping your tail and soon afterwards you began licking yourself, looking at us as if you were sayiug: “Look what you have done to my fur!” When new cats were introduced you tolerated them but they were not allowed to come to close to you. You never excepted Lissy, the other female cat – you were truly the one and only queen. In December 2007 – when we already went through a difficult time – more sad news hid us: You were diagnosed with cancer and had only 4-6 weeks to live. Soon after we lost Gizmo which was a shock. We were having a hard time thinking of loosing you when his death came unexpectedly. It hurts, it hurts so badly. What more bad news was to come? You made it to our new house, you explored the house the first day you arrived, showing no fear like the others did. You proved the doctors wrong, you are still here. But now you get weaker everyday and I know the day will come soon to have to say goodbye to you. I fear this day. Sheila, I love you so much, you are special to me.

Finally I finished my first entry – phew, I don’t have much time at the moment, so I am really struggling! I have to work on the second one today, too – and have to paint… Oh well, I will get it done

So here it is:

Entry to the first ADSR 3 Challenge, hosted @ Digital Scrapbooking Classes.

1. Use template provided.
2. Use your favorite color on the layout. Try to make at least half of your layout in your favorite color so we can all see what it is.
3. Share with us a picture of your favorite person or animal to scrap about on your layout. I want to know who or what is closest to your heart.
4. Go through your collection of digital elements and pick out one of your favorites. Then use at least three times on your layout.
You can use different colors of the same thing, but I want to see three of the same element. For example, if your favorite element is a specific satin ribbon,
then use that ribbon three times on your layout. You could use it three times looking exactly the same way or you could alter the color of ribbon to three different colors.

Journaling:
What more can I wish for? You show us everyday that you love and care about us. We laugh, have fun and cry together. All kinds of situations we master together. When you are not with me, I miss you as you are a part of me. I don’t know one task you wouldn’t do, you change nappies, stand up in the middle of the night to look after our kids, you can cook, wash, clean, you do the grocery shopping, play with the kids, go to kids birthday parties and many things more. In most cases we have the same taste and think alike. I know exactly what you want to say before you even finish your sentence. Of course you have some faults – who doesn’t? But over all you are the perfect husband to me, I love you.
